Saving a Section

If you would like to save a road cross-section, with the selected attributes, click the 'Save' button and fill in a short name, and a brief description in the form that pops up.

Open a Saved Section

To Open a previously saved road cross-section, find the name in the list within the 'Saved road sections' panel, and click on the section name.

Delete a Saved Section

If you have no more use for a saved section, click the 'trashcan' icon: . A popup box with options will appear, click 'Confirm' or 'Cancel'.

Share a Section

It is possible to Share a road cross-section to another user of ViDA: Click on the 'share' icon: and a popup box will appear. Enter the name of the user you wish to share the road section with, then click 'Search for User'. A new form will appear with a list of ViDA Users that match the name you entered. Choose one and click 'Share Section'.

Remove a Share

You can also remove a share by opening the 'Share' popup box and clicking the 'Remove Share' icon: which appears next to each user in the list of Shares under the Sharing form.

Select Multiple Sections

To Delete or Share multiple road cross-sections in one action, click the 'checkbox': next to each of the desired road sections in the Panel list. A new pair of buttons will appear above the list: 'Share' & 'Delete'.

To Delete the selected sections, click the 'Delete' button: A new popup box will appear with options: click 'Confirm' or 'Cancel'.

To Share the selected sections, click the 'Share' button: a new popup box will appear. Enter the name of the user you wish to share the road sections with, then click 'Search for User'. A new form will appear with a list of ViDA Users that match the name you entered. Choose one and click 'Share Section'.

This popup box will not list the users that these sections are already shared with. In order to remove these shares, open each Section's share popup individually.

Create a Coding File

If you wish to create a ViDA coding file from the road cross-sections that you have saved (or had shared to you), click the 'Create Coding File' button at the base of the Saved road sections Panel.

In the popup box that appears, click the '+' button to add road sections, in the order that you desire, then click the 'Download' button. The file will be generated and you will be presented with the standard 'save a file' form for your browser and/or operating system.
